Toilet Plunger
In a traditional plunger, the shaft does not provide enough surface area to have a comfortable and stable grip while also being able to apply the necessary force to plunge clogged toilets. A market survey was created with roughly 500 participants, ranging from the ages of 14-55 to find out what are the most common problems faced when using a traditional plunger. The most common issues were cleanliness, ergonomics, and comfort. The original design was intended to be a full redesign of a traditional toilet plunger. However, the design eventually evolved down to just a more comfortable handle that can be applied to the shaft of any standard toilet plunger. The bulb shape allows for more surface area on the handle allowing the consumer to apply less force. The sloped surface of the handle is designed to allow for force to be applied through the wrist, as opposed to through the palm of the hand. This is both more effective and more comfortable.
